Carbon Footprint Project

Project Summary
Lowestoft College is working in partnership with West Suffolk College and the University of East Anglia (UEA) and has obtained a funding package from the European Social Fund and the Learning and Skills Council to help companies improve their carbon footprint and cut costs.
Working with the UEA, Lowestoft College will support companies in cutting their Energy costs and managing their waste in order to improve their bottom lines. As well as providing a package of training as outlined below this project will give companies the support of a U.E.A. Graduate to assist the Company in setting up a Company Benchmark for Energy Consumption
Fully funded training will be available around energy efficiency, leading to recognised technical certificates. Company managers and technical staff will be trained in order to identify causes of waste and use problem solving techniques that will improve the company’s bottom line. They will also be able to identify other actions that they can take to improve the company’s environmental performance.
Eligibility
- Beneficiaries have to be aged 19+, and live and / or work in Suffolk
- SMEs only
